Handcrafted. Played for Life.

Every Rowan guitar is built one at a time, by hand, with tonewoods chosen for their character and beauty.

Every Guitar Starts With a Story

I started building guitars because I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for — something that felt personal, sounded alive, and was made with real intention. So I learned to make it myself.

Every Rowan guitar begins with a conversation. What do you play? What do you feel when you pick up an instrument that's truly yours? That's where the build starts.

I work out of a small shop where every cut, every joint, and every finish coat is done by hand. No shortcuts. No production lines. Just wood, tools, and time.

Tonewoods

A Wide Range of Stunning Tonewoods

The wood is the soul of the instrument. I source only the most striking, character-rich tonewoods — each one chosen for its figure, resonance, and story.

Figured Maple

Figured Maple

Bright & articulate

Tight, shimmering flame figure with a bright, articulate tone. No two tops are alike — each one catches light differently.

Black Walnut

Black Walnut

Warm & full-bodied

A North American classic with rich chocolate tones and sweeping figure. Warm and full-bodied with a natural resonance that feels alive under your hands.

Purpleheart

Purpleheart

Bold & punchy

A striking South American hardwood with a vivid violet hue that deepens with age. Dense and hard with a bright, punchy tone that cuts through the mix.

Cocobolo

Cocobolo

Rich & sustaining

A stunning Mexican rosewood with swirling orange, red, and purple hues. Incredibly dense and oily — it sings with sustain and warmth.

Ebony

Ebony

Fast & precise

One of the hardest, densest tonewoods on earth. Ranges from jet black to highly figured with a glassy smooth surface — fast under the fingers and razor-clear in tone.

Signal chain

The Electronics Are Just as Intentional

A great guitar deserves a signal chain that gets out of its own way. Every Rowan instrument is wired with boutique-grade electronics — the kind of carefully considered components that the legends we all know and love have relied on to translate every nuance of their playing. That includes On-Board Effects Loop (OBEL) capability: a system that routes your effects through the guitar's own circuitry, giving you consistent, unity-gain tone whether your board is on or off. Custom switching, hand-wired harnesses, and pickups chosen for the specific voice of each build. Nothing generic. Nothing that colors the tone in ways you didn't ask for.

Hand-wired harnesses

Point-to-point wiring with premium capacitors and pots — no circuit boards, no shortcuts.

Boutique pickup selection

Pickups matched to the tonewoods and playing style of each individual build.

OBEL — On-Board Effects Loop

Route your effects through the guitar's own circuitry for consistent, unity-gain tone at any volume setting.

Shielded cavities

Fully shielded control and pickup cavities for a dead-quiet noise floor on stage and in the studio.

How a Rowan Guitar Comes to Life

01

The Conversation

We start by talking — about your playing style, your influences, the feel you're after. This shapes every decision that follows.

02

Wood Selection

Together we choose the tonewoods. I'll show you what I have in the shop — each piece is unique, and you'll know the right one when you see it.

03

The Build

I work through the build over 12–18 weeks, sending updates along the way. Every joint is hand-fit. Every surface is hand-finished.

04

The Handoff

When it's done, it's yours. Set up to your specs, ready to play, built to last a lifetime.

I take a limited number of commissions each year. If you're serious about a one-of-a-kind instrument, let's talk.
